We make it easier to choose who employs your New Zealand team.

NZ EOR Hub compares the Employer of Record, PEO and labour hire providers operating in New Zealand, scored against published criteria with the working shown. Whether you are placing a single employee in Auckland or building a team across both islands, the aim is to get you to a defensible shortlist in an afternoon rather than a fortnight.

Built by people who work in global employment.

Most New Zealand provider comparisons are thin. They list the same handful of global platforms, restate the marketing copy, and skip the things that actually determine whether an arrangement works here: whether the provider holds its own New Zealand entity, how it handles the Holidays Act “greater of” calculation, whether KiwiSaver and ACC are administered correctly, and what an employee really costs once statutory obligations are added on top of the headline fee.

This site is put together by people who work inside the global employment industry, in New Zealand and beyond. That means we know how the quoting works, where the margin sits, which claims are routine and which are genuinely unusual, and what a provider is actually promising when it says “local support”. We use that to ask the questions a buyer would not think to ask, and to read a rate card for what it leaves out.

Every provider on this site is scored against the same published criteria, and where a competitor beats a higher-ranked provider on a criterion, we say so on the page rather than quietly leaving it out.

What we hold providers to.

Evidence, not brochures

Entity claims are checked against the New Zealand Companies Register. Prices come from published rate cards. Where something cannot be verified, we record it as unknown rather than treating absence of evidence as evidence of absence.

New Zealand specifics

Holidays Act calculations, KiwiSaver, ACC levies and visa sponsorship are where arrangements actually come unstuck here. We weight them heavily and look for them in the product, not the sales deck.

One scorecard for everyone

The same criteria are applied to every provider, the criteria are published on each ranking page, and a standing changes when the evidence changes rather than when a commercial relationship does.

What we publish

Three rankings and three reference guides.

Everything on this site falls into one of two categories: provider rankings, where the same criteria are applied to every provider and the scoring is shown, and reference guides covering the New Zealand pay and employment rules that shape what any provider can actually deliver.

The criteria every provider is scored against

  • An owned New Zealand entity, verified against the Companies Register, rather than a partner arrangement
  • Published, verifiable pricing versus quote-only pricing
  • Demonstrated Holidays Act, KiwiSaver and ACC handling inside the product, not a general payroll claim
  • Evidenced New Zealand support hours, contacts or named account management
  • Onboarding speed, including where an Accredited Employer Work Visa is required
  • Independent review volume and standing across public platforms
  • Country coverage beyond New Zealand, for businesses planning to expand further
  • Additional services genuinely offered alongside employment, such as recruitment or incorporation

Where a criterion cannot be verified from public sources, it is recorded as unknown. We do not treat an absence of evidence as evidence of absence, and we do not assert anything about a provider that we could not check.

Start with the comparison

If you are hiring in New Zealand without a local entity, the EOR ranking is the place to begin. Every provider is scored on the same criteria, with the reasoning and the gaps shown on the page.

If you already hold a New Zealand entity, the PEO ranking will be more useful. For casual, seasonal or on-hire staff, start with labour hire.
