ANZPEO (formerly New Zealand PEO) review: EOR and visa sponsorship in New Zealand

The only provider in our ranking that appears on Immigration New Zealand's public accredited employer list, so it can sponsor an Accredited Employer Work Visa directly. It is also an Australian company registered here as an overseas company, with no published pricing. We checked both on the register and scored it on our eight criteria.

Our verdict

The shortest route to a sponsored work visa in New Zealand, at the cost of scale and price transparency.

ANZPEO is what you get when the Australia PEO and New Zealand PEO brands merge, which they did in July 2026 under founder Fran Davies. It covers two countries, names seven people on its team, and publishes no prices. What it has that almost no global EOR has is a listing on Immigration New Zealand's public accredited employer register, which means it can run the Job Check and sponsor an Accredited Employer Work Visa in its own name. If your hire needs a visa, that single fact moves it up most shortlists. If your hire does not, the lack of a New Zealand-incorporated entity, the quote-only pricing, the 12-month master agreement and payroll pre-funding make RemotePeople or Deel the cheaper and simpler choice.

Choose ANZPEO if your New Zealand hire needs an Accredited Employer Work Visa, you want one named person handling payroll and HR, and you are happy to pay for a boutique service on a quote. Look elsewhere if you want a published price, a locally incorporated employing entity, a platform with integrations, or hires outside Australia and New Zealand.

Who actually employs your staff: an Australian company registered in New Zealand

Searching the New Zealand Companies Register for "NZ PEO" or "New Zealand PEO" returns no locally incorporated company of that name. "New Zealand PEO" is an Australian-registered business name held by ANZ PEO Pty Ltd, an Australian private company (ACN 627 296 815, ABN active since July 2018) that is registered on the New Zealand register as an overseas ASIC company since 23 March 2023. Its NZBN is 9429051209841 and its New Zealand company number is 8670967. The company was named Australia PEO Pty Limited until 17 July 2026, when it changed its name to ANZ PEO Pty Ltd ahead of the brand merger.

An overseas company can lawfully employ staff in New Zealand, and the register shows it filing annual returns on time. The difference from a locally incorporated subsidiary is that there is no New Zealand company with its own share capital and directors standing between you and the Australian parent, and the New Zealand principal place of business on the register is in Rosedale, Auckland, not the Lambton Quay, Wellington address used in its marketing.

  • Dedicated account manager and a human-led service, confirmed by Google reviews that name individual staff
  • Fast start: employment agreement within 24 hours and payroll live by day three, by its own timeline
  • Australian parent operating since 2018 with clean annual-return history on both registers
  • Payroll and HR service also available to companies that already have a New Zealand entity
Watch for
  • Not a New Zealand-incorporated company: the employer is an Australian Pty Ltd registered here as an overseas company
  • No published pricing; expect a setup fee, a deposit, FX charges, payroll pre-funding and a 12-month master agreement
  • Two countries only, no recruitment, and no contractor product on the current site
  • Registered New Zealand address is in Auckland while marketing uses a Wellington address; the Wellington office may be a serviced address
  • Small team (seven named) and a thin independent review footprint: one Trustpilot review, no G2 or Capterra listing
  • Site inconsistencies: AEWV described as up to three years on one page and five on another; the Terms and Conditions link has no page

FAQ

Common questions about ANZPEO in New Zealand

Is NZ PEO still a company?
New Zealand PEO was never a separate New Zealand company: it was a registered business name of the Australian company Australia PEO Pty Limited, which registered in New Zealand as an overseas company in March 2023. In July 2026 the Australian and New Zealand brands merged as ANZPEO and the company was renamed ANZ PEO Pty Ltd. The old newzealandpeo.co.nz address now serves the ANZPEO site.
Can ANZPEO sponsor an Accredited Employer Work Visa?
Yes. NZBN 9429051209841 appears on Immigration New Zealand's public accredited employer list (under the former name Australia PEO Pty Limited, trading as New Zealand PEO) with accreditation expiring 27 February 2027. ANZPEO manages the Job Check and sponsors the AEWV in its own name; it does not sponsor individuals without an employer.
What does ANZPEO charge?
It does not say. There is no published price list; third-party reviewers describe a setup fee, a monthly fee per employee, a deposit, FX fees and payroll pre-funding under a 12-month master agreement. Ask for all five in writing.
Does it cover countries other than New Zealand?
Only Australia. If you are hiring in a third country you will need a second provider.
